Table of two cities

November 28th 2008 01:29
christmas morning

This sweet little table was brought to life in a small Hong Kong factory and has since hosted family Christmas lunches, candlelit suppers and riotous gatherings of good friends.

It has supported the books of children doing homework and hidden the same children from seeking parents pretending they can’t see the exposed feet or hear the giggles.

It has served three generations in four homes in two cities. Cities, seasons, people and pets have come and gone, but it has stood proudly throughout in the family living areas.

Recently, there came a time for change, and it accepted change with grace. It became an outdoor table when a man met a woman and they decided to combine their lives, their homes and their tables.

Through it all, it has asked nothing more than an occasional polish to maintain youthful good looks. Through it all, the sweet little table served faithfully and never, ever complained.

It deserved better than this ...
bite marks

Scratchy has nibbled one or two things in the past, but this spiteful, biteful attack on the sweet little table was as unexpected as it was destructive. It’s so sad to see her like this.

Bad boy, Scratchy. Very bad boy.
