Let sleeping dogs be photographed

Scratchy takes sleeping seriously

Greyhounds sleep about 18 hours a day, and more if you let them. Many of them like to sleep on their backs, legs sticking up in the air, like a dead cockroach. Greyhounds sleep deeply and can be startled if woken suddenly. It is therefore important to teach children not to run up to them when they are sleeping. Greyhounds sometimes sleep with their eyes open so it can be a difficult lesson to teach.

I didn't know that about Greyhounds.

My pooch also sleeps on his back with his feet in the air..it's adorable.

Hi Tracy, adorable it is, especially so with those great long spindly greyhound legs stuck in the air like a small forest of hairy trees

Regards,
Chris

He he, that's a great description.

My little chap is a black and white Malteser/Shih Tzu who looks a bit like a furry panda.

He sounds wonderful Tracy. We've just returned from the dog park where we met a Swiss shepherd (looks just like a German shepherd except it's pure white - for camouflage in the snow), a pair of mastiffs and a rottweiler-kelpie cross! The greyhounds had a ball

I love pooch park smorgasbords, you never know who you’ll meet.

I have to walk mine now, he’s bouncing up and down the stairs.

Bye!

Enjoy! Meanwhile, you've given me the idea for another Zoomies post about the difficulties of introducing greyhounds to the art of climbing stairs. Thank you
