Scratchy's dream
April 19th 2010 07:44
The thing about recovering from a broken leg, procedurally speaking, and I shall try to keep the technical terms to a minimum, is that you need cushions.
I speak from experience. It might have looked attractive out there on the front verandah in the sun ...
... but comfortable it was not.
Time to give that away.
The thing is, not just any cushion will do.
This one, for example ...
... is not greyhound-friendly. It takes approximately seven minutes to get down when you have a broken leg, so it's pretty frustrating to find that the wrong leg has ended up on the cushion.
Nice colour though.
You just need a bigger cushion, you clueless canine.
What? Oh. Hmm.
That's better! What luxury. Everything off the floor. I can say with certainty that nothing could be better than this. I do believe I'll close my eyes now and have a nice snooze. I wonder what I will dream about.
Zzzzz ... oh, a bone on my big cushion. Why didn't I think of that?
Zzzzz ... oh, two big cushions. Why didn't I think of that?
I suppose a bone and two big cushions is out of the question?

I saw heated cushions at a pet store the other day. not sure if they were big enough for a dog of your grand stature, but given melbourne's weather they might be worth investigating.

Oh well, ok, I'll check it out. Of course, Daisy will want one too.
Very kind of you to make the suggestion.
Best wishes,
Chris

Oh! Oh! Oh!
Heated dog mats! Oh my! I can only assume Bronwyn was looking at the bedding she should get for me when I go to live with her. Really, a delicate hound like me should have a heated dog mat to enhance her beauty sleeps, wouldn't you agree? Moving to New South wales is looking rather attractive.
Clyde has his paw in a bandage again and the Missus has been on the phone to America ordering him some special boots to make his life more comfortable, as the pink boots are not good enough, they give him pressure sores. I am very glad the Boss and the Missus are so good to him but I do feel quite neglected at times. I'm sure a heated rug would rectify this situation.
Heidi.

I can see you won't have to train Bronwyn too much. Is it definite that you will move to Sinney?
Please give Clyde a gentle lick from all of us. He's a special dog.
